Great New 1715 Fleet Find by Grant

Yesterday I mentioned a few finds by the Fisher group down south, but the salvage season on the Treasure Coast is off to a great start.  Above is Grant displaying a unique complete gilded-silver picture frame fresh up from its resting place of hundreds of years.

Notice the birds serving as feet.

Jonah said, Here a pic of our latest find: Grant aboard "The Bottomline." It appears to be a gold gilded picture frame made a solid silver with birds for feet. We had a late start to the summer working off a new boat to us. We started the summer finding silver coins ,pottery ,shipwreck material. And then this frame...

That is what I call a great find. The frame is whole and in such great shape! Congratulations Grant! And continued best wishes to the crew of The Bottomline.

A plan to recover what may be one of history’s greatest treasure troves from the wreck of a Spanish galleon could be set in motion on July 23.

The administration of outgoing Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos has set a deadline of July 23 for prospective salvors to submit proposals for excavating the San José, a 300-year-old wreck off the Colombian coast.
