The Sedwick Coins treasure auction # 24 is now online. Here is the link if you want to start browsing.

I took a look and was impressed. This auction has almost everything - treasure coins, gold and silver bars, nuggets, emeralds, chains, porcelain, clumps of coins, artifacts, paper money, etc. In my opinion it is one of the most diverse and extensive auctions yet.
I thought a couple of the cobs were really strange looking. There are a lot of silver coins in all kinds of condition. There was even a heart cob.
There are tons of mounted coins - too many for my taste, but only a couple US gold coins.
You can register now if you wish to bid. There are a few bids already in.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Shipwreck hunters who spent eight days this summer unearthing and examining the remains of a schooner in Lake Erie in Ohio think it’s most likely a sailing ship that sank nearly two centuries ago.
That would make the wreckage the oldest ever found in the shallowest of the Great Lakes.
But there’s a bit of debate among the marine archaeologists and shipwreck hunters who are trying to identify the wreck about how confident they are it is indeed the Lake Serpent that sank in 1829...
Here is the link for more about that.

The big news is Hurricane Michael, which appears to be headed towards the Florida Panhandle as a major hurricane.

There is also a new tropical storm - fifteen. It looks like it will head north instead of coming towards Florida.
Expected Path of Michael.
